On Thursday August 11, after checking in with us at the hotel in the early afternoon, we welcome all attendees at the "Welcome Reception/Dinner Cruise" on the Royal Argosy Cruise ship (a short walk along the waterfront from the hotel). We will kick off the conference with a scenic tour of the Seattle Harbor - bringing the magnificent city skyline into clear view, live jazz music, two drink tickets (then cash bar), and a first class dinner buffet featuring a menu of local ingredients. On Friday August 12, the morning will be a "trade show" format, allowing attendees to visit the "Exhibit Hall" to meet all conference attendees and interact with the conference exhibitors. 42 spaces are available in the "Exhibition Hall" on a first come first serve basis. Please use the ticketing options above to reserve your space.
IIUSA, as the ONLY trade organization of EB-5 Regional Centers dedicated to industry best practices and regulatory compliance, is particularly pleased for this opportunity to have the world meet and network with our Regional Center Members on center display. After meeting with Regional Center Principals at the Conference, foreign attendees are encouraged to arrange site visits of capital investment projects in Regional Centers of interest to them.

During the afternoon of Friday August 12, IIUSA will present a number of educational panels on the various subjects of importance within the EB-5 Regional Center Program, as detailed below. The Program requires in depth knowledge of many different disciplines. This conference is your opportunity to learn from experts on all of them. Conference attendees also get the opportunity to see and learn first hand about IIUSA, its mission, what it does in service of EB-5 Regional Centers and other Program stakeholders, and the various ways YOU can contribute. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the session of afternoon seminars. Attorneys can earn CLE credits for attending!

Future of the EB-5 Reg Ctr Program in a Global Migration Market

There is a global competition for immigrant investors. Many countries around the world have programs designed to attract this source of capital. This panel will feature experts in all of the immigrant investor programs around the world (see list below), highlighting the differences, recent changes, future trends, and what it all means for the EB-5 Regional Center Program. The panel will feature the current IIUSA President and IIUSA's government affairs representative in Washington, DC - a former Congressman and aide to U.S. President Gerald Ford. They will give an in depth update and analysis on the push for permanent authorization of the EB-5 Regional Center Program (currently due to expire on 09/30/2012), and EB-5 reform legislation that will soon be introduced in Congress.

U.S. Securities Laws

In depth knowledge of U.S. securities laws is another essential part of the EB-5 repertoire. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is aware of, and monitors, EB-5 investment offerings. State securities regulators also have an oversight role in many U.S. states. This panel will review issues such as: payment of "finders fees," Reg. D and Reg. S exemptions, and more. After the panel, you will have an understanding of where EB-5 and U.S. securities law intersect, how to indentify risky practices, and what you need to know to ensure your business operations are in compliance.

Proper use of econometric methodologies, that measure the job creating impact of EB-5 capital investment projects, is essential to the fulfillment of the EB-5 Regional Center Program's intent...JOB CREATION. This panel of economists will each discuss their econometric model of expertise, and how/why it is in compliance with USCIS requirements that these methodologies are "transparent and reproducible." Here is your opportunity to learn from a panel of active, expert practioners about another important area of expertise necessary for successful utilization of the Program. IIUSA has also invited a couple of government economists to speak on the panel. If/when they accept the invitation, it will be noted below.
